My first retro games console

My First Retro Games Console

If I remember it correctly, my very first console was the Vtech V Smile. It was a toss up between that and the ps2-but considering the ps2 was my Dads and I was the one using it, I decided to go for one that I actually owned myself. This console was...Something. Originally being made for kids-the graphics were actually great for its time and everything moves pretty fluently, there was actually a variety of different games too.

So what Specs did the Vtech V smile have?

Well, considering it wasn't very popular-I can't really find much of what was inside. But I did find a few things about it-the Table below shows as much.

I think the fact that I liked these games so much was because they were targeting children and obviously, when I played the Dora The Explorer game I was around 6. The console is great for ages 1-8, but not best for anyone above that age, since I guess the games can be a bit boring. There were other games than just the Dora The Explorer game (I mean clearly not as good) Like the winnie the pooh Platform game, The cinderella strategy game, and the Lion King adventure game. I only had a few games, and being a kid with an extremely short attention-they were good enough just by themselves; they were very entertaining for little kids!

So what Games console am I using now?

Currently, i’m not using a console as I use PC. However, the last console I used is the wii U around a month ago; I was binging the new Zelda game on that, as unfortunately I don’t have a Nintendo Switch (;-;)

And I have to say, the layout is great, it has an easy and simple interface with the choices of colours being black or white-not to mention the games and specs are pretty neat too.

As you can imagine, this console is pretty different to the Vtech V Smile-Yes Nintendo devices are sometimes intended for younger audiences, but that’s not their soul purpose. The Wii u also has wireless controllers, wifi connections, Multiplayer online-things that the vtech didn’t have-As Well as there being An online Social media run by nintendo. Well...at least at one point. That’s a downside to the wii U-there is outdated software on the console. For example Miiverse-the online social platform-shut down in late November. Instead of removing the feature all together, the features are still evident such as ‘post to miiverse’ or ‘share avatar to miiverse’-however when clicked on it just comes up with an error code.

Either way, on the Wii U there are a lot of games to choose from. Some people may not agree, but one of my favourite games on that console is Bayonetta 2. The art style in that game is beautiful, the design is outstanding-and the graphics are great. With an interactive, complicated and interesting storyline, the game is captivating.

So what is actually inside the Wii U?
The table below lists the specs:)

Work For Josh :)

Most games these days have pristine audio; without that, the player is less inclined to enjoy the game as much because the sound may have an annoying effect-or worse, they may have an lessened experience of the game due to a really bad audio fault-Hence the games being polished to perfection before release. However, audio problems can arise in newer games-games that release beta’s and alphas for example. Alongside these, new game developers may have bad audio quality sometimes due to a couple things.
A, there may not be enough members on the team that have experience with audio
And B, there may only one person developing the game, so it is easier to accidentally overlook some mistakes.
You can see these problems arrive in certain well-known games, one of them being Fortnite.
To begin with, one of the main issues with Fortnite is that it is hard to figure out the whereabouts of where other people are shooting at you from. Sometimes, it may sound as if the shooting is to the left of you-you build over to the right, and soon enough you are dead because they were on the right this entire time. Alongside bad shots, the chests can sometimes sound as if they’re in places they aren’t, not to mention the awful lag on the in-game chat function. If you’re chatting in game, it is a full five seconds at least before your message is heard-or you receive the other person’s message. I tested this myself, opening discord with one of my friends then proceeding to speak to them in game and checking how long it took for them to get the message. As I said, It took at least a full five seconds before the message was received.
Another Mainstream game which Experiences a few audio Problems is Overwatch.
For Example, many people have experienced what I assume is server Lag-Audio phrases that each character says in the game glitch out and stutter-as well as the characters running in place. This is despite some users having compatible computers and almost perfect internet, so I can only put it down to server Lag.
Finally, the third game I’d like to discuss is Silent Hill; There are a lot of audio problems in this game, possibly because it was released rather early on when 3d games weren’t very…significant, at that point in time. To highlight some of the problems, there is a problem with stuttering audio effects. For example, every time a door, menu or if there’s a transition-no matter the sound, it repeats itself three times. For some people it can be very irritating. Alongside this there is buzzing when using the shotgun, and sometimes the voice overs in the cut scenes will abruptly turn silent. Not to mention, When audible the voice acting it ‘self is scattered and almost un-natural; it’s a conversation which you wouldn’t ever hear occur in real life.
For certain types of these audio problems there is an easy fix. For example, the fact that there is severe server lag on overwatch could be fixed via different plugins. Some plugins like clear lag for example, clear unneeded entities in the game to make it easier to run.
Unfortunately, for games like silent hill this is not so easy. To fix these problems it is a little more complicated; The sound problems need a trial and error of different Plugins such as P.E.O.P’s video plugin; that one is preffred actually, due to the GL (Another softaware) having a lot of bugs, which could mess up your sound even more. P.E.O.P emulates on parr with the reak OSX graphics, and silent hill having those primitive kind of graphics-it works for 😊 You can also use other emulators like pSX of even PCSX-RELOADED, as they can help too.
Otherwise, it is possible to Lower the resolution and video quality. As you can see-these are problems which should have been ironed out in the developing stages of the game-via lowering frame rates of the game etc etc. However, because of the time, it’s not like the software could be updated After these discoveries were made-if they weren’t found in the beta. The glitches in this game may possibly be because of its transfer from PS to computer. There may be certain holes in compatibility which causes glitches in the game, not to mention a ruined experienced.
Certain failures in the game do have simple fixes though-Sometimes all it takes to fix the shotgun is a simple switch to the handgun and back.
So, in conclusion We can see that certain bugs can be fixed by freeing up space, downloading plugins to reduce lag, and downloading plugins to reduce sound glitches.
